American + US Airways = Pan Am (English)
U.S. Airways wants to buy American and retain its name. With everything that has been happening with American lately with loose seats and canceled flights by pilots calling in sick, the American brand seems tarnished. It makes it a bad idea to retain the name American. Doug Parker, CEO of U.S. Airways says the U.S. Airways brand does not have the recognition that American has. If Doug Parker wants to use a brand that has a lot of recognition he should use the Pan Am name and logo. The Pan Am brand is well recognized throughout the world, second only to Coca-Cola. Pan Am is not just any airline. Pan Am was a pioneer in aviation, set the standards for air transport and was the first to cross the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. A merger between American and U.S. Airways under the name Pan Am would make Pan Am the world's largest airline and for sure Pan Am would make a comeback. Pan Am is a name that has to fly. Pan Am has a rich history. It is time toput Pan Am back in the sky where it belongs. I hope that Doug Parker sees this and consider it.
